Worship, however, is so much more than that. Worship is simply the act of bringing glory to God, no matter how you do it. Singing is a very easy and effective way to do that, but we can worship God in so many other ways, all equally important.

God deserves our constant worship, the possibility of which is seriously limited when you consider worship as just singing to God. Anything that brings Glory, that can be using your God-given talents or spiritual gifts to the best of your ability. If you have the gift of knowledge, that means working hard in school (*gulp!*). If your gift is wisdom, that means sharing that wisdom with others. If God has give you a talent for anything, that means using that talent in a way that ultimately (and immediately) brings him Glory.

One of the talents God has given me is knowledge. I definitely fall down on my face many times when it comes to worshiping God with this gift he has given me. I am able to learn things easily, but I tend to over-estimate the difficulty of certain things (especially now that I'm in College.) The temptation to be lazy is one that comes up all the time, and I fall into that temptation and lose the chance to give Him the glory for that knowledge.

Another one of the talents God has given me is photography, along with the ability to operate computers (and thus, programs such as Photoshop) with ease. I find it much easier to worship God by using this talent because I enjoy it so much, but when it comes time to give God the glory, I would much rather take the credit, because "I was the one who took the picture." In reality, however, God was the one who presented me with the opportunity to take every picture I've ever taken, and was the one who gave me the talent to be able to take those pictures.

These are just a few of the ways that I have been able to worship God through ways other than singing. In closing, here is one picture/a few pictures put together into one picture for which it is very easy to give God the credit.

powered by performancing firefox
